Vol. 19, No. 3, Summer, pp. 33-47; http://www.mises.org/journals/jls/19_3/19_3_2.pdf

I am very proud of Muetze for writing this, and, sorry to blow my own horn, proud of myself for helping her get this essay published in a prestigious refereed journal. Why? This is due to the fact that this former student of mine not only takes a position 180 degrees apart from mine, but, also, directly criticizes my own work on this matter. (Needless to say, this brilliant but in my view mistaken on this one issue student earned an “A” in this course; her essay started out as a term paper for one of my courses).

Here is my response to her article:

This is a very special publication by one of our students. Not only has this paper been cited in a peer reviewed journal, it has been made the subject of a full-scale rejoinder: Long, Roderick T. 2007. “Anarchy Defended: Reply to Schneider.” The Journal of Libertarian Studies, Vol. 21, No. 1, pp. 111-121; http://www.mises.org/journals/jls/21_1/21_1_8.pdf. There are two notable things about this rejoinder: it is authored by the editor of Journal of Libertarian Studies, and, even rarer, its number of pages is greater than its subject: Jordan’s original paper.
